The US has just pledged another 7 trillion as a result of this stupid banking system,

It has been said that this bailout instantly puts every American family in $80,000 debt.

Does this make you angry? It makes me angry. They are creating a new world order without consulting us.

SHOULD WE BE SCARED OR SHOULD WE BE ANGRY?

Believe me, I am FURIOUS (even when I'm joking about it). Soon we'll join Brazil in National Debt SizeXXXXXXL Club. Someone's got to pay the price of this extravagance one day. Certainly, it won't be your smug banker.

YES! Fuming!! I read every word of your Bloomberg link and failed to understand any of it. It struck me that somebody had made a list of greedy overpaid fat-cats, idiot overpaid financial advisors, disgraceful thieving financial organizations, and amounts of money that read like telephone numbers, and shuffled them all together into a heap of gobbledy-gook, the purpose of which escapes me!!

The UK version said much the same thing without the financial verbal diarrhoea!

All I know is that I sense a few greasy pigs (bankers and financiers) have had their snouts in the trough (taxpayers, savers, investors and borrowers hard-earned cash) for many years.

And the idiot politicians either stupidly didn't notice it happening or knowingly condoned it for their own nefarious reasons.

Now it is pay-back time! BUT, guess what?! Who's going to suffer? Who is going to pay back who? Well it aint the rich paying back the poor! No! The idiot politicians are wiping the slate clean for the thieving bankers and financiers sitting on their piles of ill-gotten gains, and shovelling shed-loads more of OUR (tax-payers) money into the trough!!

When's the long overdue REVOLUTION going to start?????

Well if it's any consolation, Obama's appointed Timothy Geithner as his treasury secretary - the president of the New York Federal Reserve. Phew, glad we avoided that one!

  I find it strange that listening to the media, you get the impression that there is little consensus about how to move forward. Yet there seems to be very little time between having certain ideas - like bailing out banks - and implementing them.
  
  I am thinking also about the Washington Consensus, which Williamson didn't intend as a prescription.

Not angry. We have had over 10 years of economic 'good' times. Rising house prices, relatively low interest rates and unemployment, reduced income tax rates, low inflation etc. True, indirect taxes have risen but overall I think many other than bankers etc have done relatively well.

Harder times are now here but my feeling is I have been happy to take the benefits while they lasted. These things are not sustainable for ever so I will have to adapt to the current reality. There is not much I can do about it. I have seen interesting times before and probably will again!

Yes, Furious! What really pisses me off is that the deeds of a relative few (bankers) threw the WHOLE WORLD into recession. And I don't care if politicians are trying to avoid this word, it IS a global recession, alright. Every country on this planet is suffering because of the bankers. And they walk away scot-free and are probably laughing themselves crazy over our stupidity.

They need to face some consequences. I almost don't care what, they just need to be punished for their actions.
