i heard this one off my friend, but am not too sure about it...can someone please enlighten me and keep it light at the same time...? 
im a little more than dense when it comes to these theories and blah-ti-blah-ti-da. the concepts i love but the application and the equations..ugh!

Cosmologists use the term "fabric" when it refers to the universe in a very different way to how those coming from a religious bent view it. What exactly is it you seek to know, and from which angle?

Don't know in what context you found the term. Like Tom says, time fabric is used by cosmologists. See Wikipedia's entries on time and space-time.
The way I understood it, cosmos is made up of the three dimensions plus time. And to make these dimensions and gravity (and the other forces) more understandable to us "normal" humans, cosmologists compare all that to a sort of fabric that our cosmos is composed of. There's no real fabric, of course.
Imagine the dimensions as a three-dimensional fabric permeating through our cosmos. If you now single out time, you have the time fabric.
According to Einstein's theory of relativity, time travel is possible. Imaginge time as a kind of thread: you can now travel back and forth on this thread - or back and forth in time. -

yepp..thats the one im looking for. apparently if you can travel at the speed of light you can time travel and you wont age. the fabric is what makes the earth go in a round apparently and on this fabric thingy every incident that has happened is recorded, including me typing this...which is why if we can travel at the speed of light we CAN travel to and fro time...
or something like that..
so even superman cant do us a favor and let us go back eh? too bad...

Yep, that's the concept of time fabric. You already knew that!!
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to reach the speed of light in the near (and far?) future. Because the faster an object goes, the heavier it becomes. And the heavier it is, the more energy you need to accelerate it. As soon as it's faster, it's heavier. So you need more energy again to accelerate it more. Which makes it even heavier - and so forth...-

The way I see time fabric is the Vale between worlds the Invisable vibration that moulds around all things and that when you touch something you can sense the vibration ... before touching something there is the space between you and the object ... I see that as time fabric.
