Whats the difference between chestnuts and conckers?

Conkers come only from a Horse-chestnut tree. There are other types of Chestnut trees.

and the house chestnuts look quite similar but are not really tasty

they're mostly poisonous too so don't eat them.. only eat chesnuts (the smaller ones)

I reckon SeasideMan has come up with the right answer there
... also sweet chestnuts from the chestnut tree can be roasted and eaten whereas Conkers from the horse chestnut tree cannot. -

Conkers (horse-chestnuts) aren't edible (unless you're a squirrel) Sweet chestnuts are edible.

Tehre are 2 types of chestnuts.
French chestnuts which are for roasting and eating

I thought Chestnuts were the item themselves and conkers was a use for them...
