I am sure it was known as a cheese cake or swiss cheese cake.

Sounds to me like a variation on bakewell tart - which is decidedly yummy 
Remember it well Prydwen, but dammned if I can recall its name.
I'm sure you can still buy them, and I can remember them from years back. I think they are called Cheese Cake, but they are not really like the various forms of cheesecake you slice up for dessert after dinner.
Oh I remember them well!! They were (weirdly) called Cheesecake! Ooh I really want one now. They also had a little bit of jam in the middle If I remember correctly.
That's the one. I used to pull all the coconut off the icing with my teeth. Oh bliss.
I need to know where I can lay my hands on one!!! Preferably now?
