Correct... but as the film says, Christ, Christus & Chrestus all translate as 'the anointed one'. Jesus himself is never mentioned in their text.

There is overwhelming evidence for the existence of Jesus Christ, both in secular and Biblical history. Perhaps the greatest evidence that Jesus did exist is the fact that literally thousands of Christians in the first century A.D., including the 12 apostles, were willing to give their lives as martyrs for Jesus Christ. People will die for what they believe to be true, but no one will die for what they know to be a lie.

But hang on just one minute... just because you believe something to be true, doesn't actually make it true now, does it?
And Biblical history... what's that exactly? It's only what you can read in the greatest fairy tale every written, called the bible. Just because ONE book says it happened, doesn't mean that it did.
And the evidence you speak of... where is it? Please show me some and perhaps you'll make a convert out of me.
Sorry Jack, but in a SANE world, I would be locked up - for my own protection and the protection of others - for believing that there was an invisible man in the sky telling me how to live my life.-

There is alot of evidence to be found but in this day unlees it is on the telly we wont belive it....no one will ever know for sure..it does not make much difference to me as i am an agnostic. but this guy is well balanced
http://nobeliefs.com/exist.htm
i would go straight to hi conclusion!!
as for being locked up for beliving in god..well you would have to join the 4 billion believers in every faith that would say there is!!!-

What a great find... thanks for sharing the link!
But doesn't what is found there actually contradict your first comment, about there being "overwhelming evidence for the existence of Jesus Christ"?
Thanks again...-

Yep but i like to see both sides, it would be wrong to only listen to those who agree with our point of view that is how we get conned by people, governments and everyone. it is wrong to hear only what we want to hear...sometimes we should just agree to difer..i mean what does it matter..if the world didnt insist on destroying itself over religeon well it would only be something else
....i will always take in all the info..and as is with the whole subject of religeon ...well that one will never be resolved...or will it!!!!!

you dont have to convince me!! i am with you.. i am agnostic...however you have to allow the 4 billion people who belive in a god some room..who are we to say they are wrong...the good thing about beliving in god and the after life is that your not going to be disapointed

The film is not the basis for the facts.
Jesus existed. Recognized by the Jews, although not as the messiah. Recognized by the Muslims as a prophet but not God.
Jesus was a good man, perhaps a holy man, if he was the son of god i don't know!
But to debate this subject with an atheist who has no spiritual
or religious beliefs is useless!-

That Jesus existed is disputed, you can't just boldly say "Jesus existed" when there is doubt about it. "I believe he existed" is something you could say without fear of contradiction.
"But to debate this subject with an atheist who has no spiritual or religious beliefs is useless!"
So you are only prepared to debate religion with people who have the same view as you. That is most curious, and what a dull debate that would be.
"I believe"
"Yeah, so do I"
"Erm...what shall we talk about now then?"
:-)

Just as trying to debate Jesus' non-existence with those with religious beliefs, is like banging your head against a brick wall - not to be confused with the 'Wailing' wall.

There is as stated above enough evidence to support that a man Yeshua Ben Yusuf , (Christ), lived and was popular amongst a sect of Essenic Jews.
The 6th Sphere of The Quabbala a Sephira called Tipareth is where the Solar Influenced Spirit of Christos resides. In relation to other martyrs and avatars of Christos it is curious to see so many similarities between them. I am not saying they are the same however dogmatic dates of birth, acts of thaurmurgy, virgin births and methods of dying to be reborn after 3 days are common amongst them. Mithras, Krsna etc have common similarities with Jesus.
To be annointed by the Holy Ghost is Christos this is an eternal function. Whether one chooses to live by faith and accept the Bible as the written word of a one true God and that Jesus was his son is a by the way. The power of faith and The Spirit of Christos are real, I am sure that there are also those who would rather not be classed as a Christian who live or try to live a good life loving their neighbour and turning the other cheek, these people are also touched by Christos. It was the Annointment of Jesus by John the Baptist that invoked the spirit in Jesus. From here the mantle was passed and his ministry began. John of course being decapitated, even here his skull was revered and sought after as a prophetic tool. Centuries later the Knights Templars and Cathars and Witches would be persecuted for their heresy real or imagined. Accused of denying Jesus and his death on the cross as fact and worshiping The Head of Wisdom etc these were but symbols pointing to an alternative history that was subjugated by the church.
So believe or not faith is real whether it sees eye to eye there is much goodness to be taken from the parables of Jesus. And the point is that millions believe blindly in the dogma of their church. This is a real power with real results as can be seen across the world in both negative an positive ways. It is a human requirement to have some form of belief system even is that involves disbelief. The collective unconciousness is full of avatars, archetypes and forces that started as a belief or a faith here on earth. So here again if you choose to stand against a religion as big as Christianity then as a force the disbelief is pointless for here they have created a father god out of a Geeni and another god in Jesus who had opposing views to that of his elders and peers yet taught a very Buddah like teachings. My point is that after 2000 years of psych being directed the system becomes a reality.

There may have been such a person, but there also might not have been. Some biblical scholars believe that he never existed and was a mythological symbol that was put together to embody good qualities of various types.
There is quite a lot to justify this view, because the mythology of the life of Jesus bears strong similarities to the mythology of earlier religions. Mithra, Cybele, Osiris, Adonis, Tammuz, Zalmoxis, Persephone and the Orphic mysteries all contain aspects that may have been plundered in order to create Jesus. The rebirth idea was common at the time.
Considering the importance of Jesus, it is almost astonishing that there is so little historical evidence of him from non-Christian sources. There is in fact none, as the Roman mentions of him were reports of hearsay by Christians anyway. That just leaves the bible which was at best based on hearsay and word of mouth anyway, and at worst was entirely fictional.
In addition to being poorly written and repeatedly self-contradictory, the bible is also rather free with it's version of known history, and this makes it a very dubious source for information on Jesus.

The first-century Roman Tacitus, who is considered one of the more accurate historians of the ancient world, mentioned superstitious "Christians " ("named after Christus" which is Latin for Christ), who suffered under Pontius Pilate during the reign of Tiberius. Suetonius, chief secretary to Emperor Hadrian, wrote that there was a man named Chrestus (or Christ) who lived during the first century
