I just knew when I asked the question that I should put, "the feathered variety" in brackets.
"My dog has no nose"
"How does he smell?"
"Terrible"-

Hi Kevin, "All birds have nostrils, or nares, located at the base of the bill through which the bird breathes. Within the skull is a pair of chambers that consist of maze-like folds (called concha) that both warm and clean the air before it enters the lungs. The folds also have nerves that allow the bird to smell".
That makes me seem intelligent dont it. Pinched it from a link given in one of the comments.-

Do birds sleep ?
-
- 2008-05-31 @ 23:47:06
I know of a parrot that closes his eyes, presumably he/she is sleeping. Yes, surely they do, but I am only guessing.

Sorry, but when I see that question, I just really want to say...
'...suddenly appear,
Every time,
You are near?'

PLEASE TAKE IMMEDIATE NOTICE//////This comment should be withdrawn immediately as this is a question on the possibility of birds being able to smell , not a forum for plagiarizing song lyrics to fulfill a personal fantasy. The abuse of the system is inexcusable.
LOL.-

Thanks for the invite!
I don't usually join groups, but I'll make an exception in your case

I was always told that mother birds would leave the nest if they smelt 'human' on the nest where the babies were. An urban myth?
