  • Snooker? Mathematician? Betting Odds?

    I heard that after a snooker player won £150,000 for scoring a 147 he took out some insurance in case anyone else also scored a 147 thus taking a 50% share in the prize, this did happen.

    How would he have done that? What amounts of money would it require? At what point would this action be a bad move?

  • Why is the weather forecast always wrong?

    I'm a bit confused, coz I thought the Met Office et al had really modern scientific equipment, but none of the weather forecasters ever seem to get it right.

    Stress is part of our everyday life and some of the SYMPTOMS OF STRESS are,

    Physical health problems, i.e., headaches, indigestion or a sore back.

    Poor housing.

    Your family doctor who may prescribe a short course of medication or put you in touch with, a Counsellor or therapist.
    Information and advice agencies, citizens advice, credit unions etc.
    Self help groups.

    HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus. This virus damages the immune system which leaves an individual open to infections, diseases and cancers they wouldn't normally get.

    HIV is passed on by body fluids such as blood, semen, vaginal secretions including menstrual blood and breast milk.

    By unprotected anal or vaginal sex with an HIV infected partner without a condom.
    By sharing needles or syringes with someone who is infected with HIV.
    From an HIV infected mother to her child in the womb or birth and during breastfeeding.

    What can i do to minimise the risk of passing on HIV?.
    USE A CONDOM or DON'T HAVE PENETRATIVE SEX.
    STOP INJECTING DRUG USE.
    GET TESTED.
